Config Side
Every SSCL config has a ConfigSide.
ConfigSide.CLIENT
ConfigSide.SERVER
ConfigSide.COMMON
The side controls how the config is treated by integrations such as Mod Menu.
CLIENT
CLIENT configs are client-only settings.
SSCL.create(
MOD_ID,
"MyMod/client.toml",
ConfigSide.CLIENT
);
They are editable on the client.
SERVER
SERVER configs are intended for server-side settings.
SSCL.create(
MOD_ID,
"MyMod/server.toml",
ConfigSide.SERVER
);
In Mod Menu:
- Main menu: editable
- Singleplayer / integrated server: editable
- Remote or dedicated server: visible but read-only
When connected to a remote server, SSCL does not read or modify the remote server's config.
The displayed values still come from the local config file on the client. This allows the client to see its local server.toml without attempting to access the dedicated server's filesystem.
COMMON
COMMON configs are shared or general-purpose settings.
SSCL.create(
MOD_ID,
"MyMod/common.toml",
ConfigSide.COMMON
);
They are editable normally.
Multiple Configs in Mod Menu
When a mod has multiple configs, SSCL displays them as separate tabs.
For example: Client | Server | Common
A mod with single config does not show config tabs.
